Member terms
In force from 27 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Cyproom when you create a member account. Please read them together with the member privacy notice, which explains what we do with your data. We have tried to write them in plain language; if anything is unclear, write to info@cyproom.com.
In short
- Who sees what
- No member can search for you. Only the people we introduce you to see you, and only after your ID check: your card and one watermarked photo, and all your photos only after you both say yes. Section 7
- What we keep from the ID check
- Stripe does the check. We keep the result, your date of birth and a few document details (its country and a coded fingerprint of its number) — no images; we do not store the selfie. The details are in the member privacy notice. Section 4
- What it costs
- The account is free, with no subscription. Once payments start, your first conversation is free; after that, either of you can open a conversation for €7, once. Nothing is ever charged without your own order. Section 11
- How to leave
- For 14 days after you accept, you can withdraw with one button in “My account”, without giving a reason and at no cost. If you just need a break, pause your account. Section 12
- How to delete
- “My account” → “Delete account”, any time, free. Your account is hidden at once and erased for good after 30 days; until then you can change your mind. Section 15

1. Who we are
Cyproom is an online introductions service. E-mail: info@cyproom.com. In these terms “we” and “us” mean Cyproom; “you” means the member.
The free waitlist has its own waitlist terms. These member terms apply from the moment you accept them when you create an account. You accept them by pressing the “Create account” button, below the links to these terms and the member privacy notice. We e-mail you a copy straight away.
2. What Cyproom is — and what it is not
- Private introductions, not a catalogue. Nobody can browse or search for you, and you cannot browse anyone. You only ever see the people the system introduces to you.
- Weekly introductions. Once your ID check is done, you may receive a small number of introductions (at the moment at most 3 a week and at most one a day), always at 18:00 (Cyprus time), on the day we find someone who fits you. They are chosen from your answers, your dealbreakers and what the other person asked for — in both directions. We do not promise a particular day or number of introductions: we only introduce you to someone when you really fit. For each introduction you have 72 hours to answer. While you have a conversation open you normally receive no new introductions, and if you leave your introductions of two weeks in a row unanswered, your account is paused until you press “I’m back”. At any time you can say “I’m away this week” (7 days without new introductions) or pause your account — until a date or until you come back — in My account → Availability.
- Both answer privately. Each of you answers yes or no without knowing the other’s answer. A “no” is never shown to the other person as a “no”, and no reason is given.
- A conversation opens only after a mutual yes. It lasts 7 days, is text only and is open to both of you. Your first one is free; after that, either of you can open it for €7 once (see section 14).
- No subscriptions, no boosts, no paid priority. The price is the same for everyone.
We cannot promise that you will receive introductions every week, that you will get a mutual yes, or that you will meet a partner. That depends on how many suitable members there are near you and on what they answer. Our matching is a set of rules and a score that learns from feedback; it is not a scientific test of compatibility.
3. Who can become a member
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are not married or in a relationship (being separated is fine).
- You live in Cyprus or are moving here, and you want to meet people for a real relationship or friendship that may become one — not for business.
- You have one account only, under your own identity, with an e-mail address and a mobile number that are really yours (a number from Cyprus or your home country). We confirm the number with a code.
- You complete the ID check (an identity document and, if you agree, a selfie) before anyone can see you.
- You have not been suspended from Cyproom before, unless we have lifted the suspension.
4. Your account and the ID check
- You sign in with a link or a 6-digit code that we send to your e-mail. Keep access to your e-mail and phone safe and do not share sign-in codes with anyone. In My account you can see your signed-in devices and sign out everywhere.
- The ID check is run for us by Stripe. It checks only that the document appears authentic, reads your date of birth from it (if it cannot be read from your document, we ask you for another one, for example a passport), and — when you do the selfie — that a real person who matches the document took part. With the selfie we then check that the main photo of your profile shows that same person. If you do not want the selfie (biometric) check, you can choose the ID-only check instead; then we cannot confirm that your photos show you, and your card says “ID checked” instead of “ID and selfie checked”.
- The date of birth on your document replaces the one you gave when you signed up; if it shows — or Stripe tells us — that you are under 18, your account is deleted at once. One document opens only one account: if the document has already been used for another Cyproom account, the check is not completed. If the selfie does not match your main photo (or the comparison cannot be done in time), the check passes as “ID checked”, without a new check; for the “…and selfie” label you change your main photo and take a new selfie. If the main photo clearly shows someone else, that is a risk signal (section 8). Another photo that does not seem to be you is not shown in introductions until a person has looked at it; the check never fails because of it. If you later change your main photo, your card says “ID checked” again until you take a new selfie. The number of attempts is limited, because each check costs money. Until your check is complete, nobody sees you and we introduce nobody to you.
- An ID check cannot vouch for anyone’s character, intentions or honesty. Treat every new person with normal care, and read our safety tips before you meet.
- Keep your answers true and up to date. If your situation changes (for example you are no longer single), update your profile or pause.
5. Equal treatment — who you can be introduced to
- Everyone gets the same product, the same price and the same rules for free openings, whatever their gender or age. We do not limit sign-ups by gender.
- Women and men looking for each other are introduced in a way that is fair to the side with fewer members, so that nobody is flooded with cards.
- Men looking for men, and women looking for women, are introduced within their own group, with fairness based on how long each person has waited.
- Members who choose “Everyone” can be introduced in every group that fits. Non-binary members are introduced to members who chose “Everyone”.
We tell you this openly because it means the number of introductions can differ from person to person. It is never because of a payment.
6. Community rules
- Respect. Be polite and kind. A “no”, silence or a closed conversation is final — do not chase, pressure or contact the person in other ways.
- No harassment, threats, hate or discrimination — not in texts, not in chats, not when you meet.
- No sexual content. No nudity, sexual photos or sexual texts in your profile or in chats, and no offers of sexual services.
- Never ask for money. No requests for money, gifts, crypto, “investments”, loans or help with payments. If someone asks you, report them.
- One account, the real you. Only one account per person; only real, recent photos of yourself (no other people, no children, no photos generated or heavily changed by AI); true answers about your age and your life.
- Adults only. You must be 18 or older, and so must anyone you mention or show.
- No commercial use. No advertising, selling, recruiting, escort work, surveys or promotion of any kind.
- Respect other people’s privacy. Do not share, publish or pass on any member’s photos, messages or details outside Cyproom, do not record them in order to share them, and do not try to find out who someone is outside the service before they choose to tell you. Screenshots you keep as evidence of abuse, a scam or threats are allowed: you may give them to us, to the police or another authority, or to your lawyer.
- Don’t try to get around the system. No bots, scraping, fake reports, tricks to swap phone numbers before a date is agreed, or attempts to see people the system did not introduce to you.
- Nothing illegal.
If you break these rules we may remove content, pause or suspend your account (see sections 8–9).
7. Your photos and texts
- Your photos and texts remain yours. You give us permission to store them, check them, resize them and show them to the people we introduce you to, only to run Cyproom, and only for as long as your account exists.
- Photos are never public. Before a mutual yes, the other person sees one reduced-size photo; after a mutual yes, all your photos. Every photo carries a visible watermark with the viewer’s name and the date, and every full view is listed in your “Who has seen me”.
- We remove location data (EXIF/GPS) from photos when you upload them.
- We may refuse or remove photos and texts that break the community rules, including photos that we have reason to believe are not of you.
- On a website, screenshots cannot be blocked technically. Sharing or publishing someone else’s photos or messages is forbidden and leads to suspension. Keeping them only as evidence, as section 6 says, is allowed.
8. Safety and automatic moderation — the tools we use
- Checks on upload: the main photo is checked for one clear face; all photos for nudity, for whether they are blank and for whether the same photo is already on any account; texts are checked automatically only for contact details and links. For any other problem in texts we rely on reports from members and on review by a person.
- Chat protection: phone numbers, e-mail addresses, links and messenger names are hidden until you both agree a date in the app. Every message is checked automatically for threats, sexual content and known scam patterns; we may show a warning to the sender or the recipient. Nobody at Cyproom reads your chats, unless one of you reports the conversation.
- Risk signals: for example several reports from independent members, the same phone, document or photo on more than one account, an ID-check selfie that clearly shows a different person from the main photo, a date of birth on the document many years away from the one given, a payment dispute, or the answer “I did not feel safe” after a date.
- Report and Block: on every introduction and every chat, one tap, and the other person is not told. You can also report a past introduction from your history.
- Where the checks run: on our own server. We do not send your photos, texts or messages to outside AI companies for these checks.
Cyproom runs mostly automatically, so we list these tools openly. Automatic tools can make mistakes: that is why a person reviews every appeal (section 9).
9. Pause, suspension and appeal
- Pause (automatic): when there is a safety signal, the account stops receiving introductions, open introductions are withdrawn with a neutral notice, and the member may be asked to repeat the ID check. If no second signal arrives, the pause lifts automatically after 7 days.
- Suspension (decided by a person): for serious or repeated breaches — for example a confirmed request for money, threats, or several independent reports — the operator decides whether to suspend. Without that decision the account stays paused, not suspended, and the member is told.
- Statement of reasons: whenever we remove your content, restrict, pause or suspend your account, we tell you what we did, why, which rule or law it is based on, whether automatic tools were used, and how to appeal.
- Appeal: you can appeal free of charge with the button in the notice (or by e-mail) for at least 6 months after the decision. A person reviews every appeal. If we do not answer an appeal within 7 days, the restriction is lifted automatically, unless there is a second independent signal.
- If you paid for a conversation and the other person’s account is then paused, suspended or deleted, you automatically get a refund or a free opening in the cases listed in section 14.
- If we learn that a member who was banned for fraud chatted with you in the last 30 days, we will warn you.
You can also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or go to court.
10. Reporting illegal content — contact point
- Anyone, even without an account, can report content they believe is illegal with our report form or by e-mail to info@cyproom.com. Please say where the content is, why you think it is illegal, and your name and e-mail (except for reports of child sexual abuse material, where you may stay anonymous).
- We confirm receipt, decide carefully and without delay, and tell you what we decided and how you can challenge it.
- If we become aware of information suggesting a threat to someone’s life or safety, we inform the Cyprus Police or other competent authorities.
- We may stop handling reports from people who often send reports that are clearly unfounded, after a warning.
- Single contact point for members, authorities and the European Commission: info@cyproom.com, in Greek or English (Russian is also fine).
In an emergency, call 112 first.
11. Key information before you sign up
- Trader: Cyproom — info@cyproom.com.
- The service: as described in section 2.
- Price: the account is free — you do not pay money for it, but to provide it we process the personal data described in the member privacy notice. Opening a conversation after a mutual yes costs €7 once (first one free); the price includes VAT where VAT applies. Nothing is ever charged without your clear order.
- Duration: no minimum period, no subscription and no automatic renewal. The account runs until you delete it or it ends under section 15.
- What you need: a recent web browser on a phone or computer, an e-mail address, a mobile phone that can receive a code by SMS, an identity document and, for the selfie check, a camera.
- Your right of withdrawal: 14 days, see sections 12–13.
- Legal guarantee: the service must work as described. If it does not, you have the rights the law gives for digital services: we will put it right, or, for a paid conversation, you can get a price reduction or a refund.
- Complaints: write to info@cyproom.com; we aim to reply within two working days. See also section 18.
- Languages: these terms are available in Greek, English and Russian. After you accept them we send you a copy by e-mail, and you can download the version you accepted in My account. If the language versions ever differ, the one more favourable to you applies.
12. Your 14-day right of withdrawal
- You can withdraw from the account contract within 14 days of the day you accepted these terms, without giving any reason.
- The easiest way is the Withdraw from contract here button in My account, which is there for the whole 14 days: you confirm with Confirm withdrawal, and we e-mail you an acknowledgement with the date and time. You can also send us a clear statement — for example by e-mail to info@cyproom.com or by letter to the address in section 1. You may use the model form in section 13, but you do not have to.
- It is enough to send your withdrawal before the 14 days end.
- Effects: the account is free, so there is nothing to pay or refund. Your account is hidden at once and erased for good 30 days later, as explained in the privacy notice.
After the 14 days you can still delete your account at any time, for free. Paid conversations have their own withdrawal rules (section 14).
13. Model withdrawal form (complete and send it only if you wish to withdraw from the contract)
- To: Cyproom — info@cyproom.com
- I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the supply of the following service (*): the Cyproom member account / the opening of a conversation on [date]
- Ordered on (*) / received on (*): …
- Name of consumer(s): …
- Address of consumer(s): …
- E-mail address used for the Cyproom account: …
- Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is sent on paper): …
- Date: …
- (*) Delete as appropriate.
14. Paid conversations — when payments start
- What you buy: after a mutual yes, either of you can open the 7-day conversation for €7, once. It opens for both; the other person is never charged and is not told who paid. Your first conversation is free; founding-member and invitation openings are free too. Free openings have no cash value and do not expire while your account exists.
- You have 48 hours to open it. If nobody does, the match closes quietly and nothing is charged.
- How you order: on our own order page, with an unticked box and a button that reads “Pay €7.00 — order with obligation to pay”. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number. If you both pay within the same minute, the second payment is refunded automatically.
- Your consent: before paying you ask us to open the conversation at once. You can withdraw within 14 days and are refunded for the days not yet used — €7 minus €1 for each full 24 hours already passed, so any started day counts as unused. Once the 7 days have fully run, the right of withdrawal ends. A Withdraw button does this in one click.
- Automatic refunds: if the conversation cannot start because of the other account (paused, suspended or deleted before the first exchange), you get a full refund. If the other person writes nothing within 72 hours, or is suspended during the 7 days, you get one free opening automatically — or, if you prefer, a cash refund on request within 14 days.
- Keep talking: if you both tap “Keep talking”, the conversation gets one extra 7 days free. “Close politely” ends a conversation for both; no refund is due for that.
- If you open a payment dispute with your bank instead of contacting us, the account is paused while it is checked.
Payments are not open yet. This section is a summary: when payments start, the full purchase terms are shown on the order page before you pay and are sent to you by e-mail.
15. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in My account. It is hidden immediately and erased for good 30 days later; if you sign in again within those 30 days, we ask whether you want to keep it. If you have a conversation open, it closes for both.
- Inactivity: after 60 days without signing in your account is paused; after 12 months it is erased. We e-mail you twice before that happens.
- We may end your account after a suspension (section 9), if the law requires it, or if you used false identity details. We tell you the reasons and how to appeal.
- If we ever close Cyproom, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance (unless events outside our control make that impossible), let you export your data and refund any conversation that is still running for the days not used.
16. Responsibility
- We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms.
- Members are responsible for what they write, send and do — online and when they meet. We are not a party to members’ relationships and we cannot check what people do outside Cyproom, but we look at every report.
- Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and do not send money to anyone you met here.
- We work to keep Cyproom available, but there may be short interruptions for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else that the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
17. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may improve the service and update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. For important changes we e-mail you at least 30 days before they apply, except where a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the change, free of charge. A conversation you have already paid for continues under the terms you accepted.
18. Law, complaints and dispute resolution
- These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country.
- Please write to us first at info@cyproom.com — we will try to fix things quickly.
- If we cannot agree, you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus or an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body; we will name the ADR body here before accounts open. For moderation decisions see also section 9.
- You can also go to the courts of Cyprus or of the EU country where you live.
